Jonathon Friesen

Estimator/Systems Administrator

Jonathon Friesen is an Estimator at Hiebert Glass Inc., where he also manages the company's IT infrastructure. Before moving into the construction industry, he worked as a part-time draftsman for an interior design firm while in high school, spent three years as a CNC programmer, and worked four years as an IT technician. That combination of drafting, manufacturing, and IT experience gives him a practical, systems-minded approach to reading drawings and specifications, reviewing addendums, building pricing packages, and researching product substitutions. Today, he handles estimating for HGI (sifting through specifications and addendums, creating detailed takeoffs, comparing building envelope systems, and coordinating with suppliers and general contractors), while also keeping the company's technology running behind the scenes. Outside of work, Jonathon enjoys downhill skiing and soccer, and can often be found tinkering with his homelab or planning the next trip with his wife.
